14,000 residents in western Japan must evacuate due to heavy rains

Not less than 14 thousand residents in the western part of Japan were ordered to evacuate due to the threat of landslides and flooding of rivers amid heavy rains falling on the region. This was reported on Friday, May 21, channel NHK.

The channel announced that about 12,000 residents of Wakayama Prefecture and 2,000 residents of Osaka Prefecture had been advised to do the same.

As informed the national meteorological administration of Japan, for a day in some areas of the country could fall from 100 to 200 mm of rainfall.
