17 members of a British family caught a coronavirus infection at the funeral of a relative who died from complications after COVID-19. The British edition of Metro writes about it.
On 9 February, 86-year-old Sheila Brooks died of pneumonia caused by a coronavirus infection. Numerous relatives came to the funeral, which took place on March 13.
A few days after the mourning ceremony, the 65-year-old niece of the deceased, Susan Nelson, found herself in intensive care, having contracted the coronavirus. Later the woman also died, reports the TV channel “360”. According to her son, during her illness, Susan coughed a lot, suffocated and showed all the common symptoms of coronavirus.
In all, 17 members of the Brooks family had symptoms of the virus. Her 34-year-old daughter, Amanda, was one of them.
Currently, all relatives are at home on self-isolation. The family’s asking all people to follow the authorities’ advice – not to spend time in companies and to keep a distance.
