A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Samoa in the Pacific Ocean. This was reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center on Saturday, July 18.
The epicenter of the underground tremors was located 236 km from the city of Apia and 144 km northeast of the city of Gijifo, the administrative center of the district of Niouas. The earthquake originated at a depth of 40 km.
The underground shocks were recorded at 15:32 UTC time. No data on casualties or damage was reported.
