A car drove into a crowd of protesters in Washington State

A car drove into a crowd of protesters on a blocked I-5 motorway in Washington State. This was reported by ABC News channel on July 4.

According to a spokesman for the State Patrol Rick Johnson, the car passed through a closed part of the highway, shooting down several people. One of them was assessed to be in serious condition, while another had life-threatening injuries.

The suspect has been apprehended and is currently in custody. It is noted that the I-5 highway, which runs along the border of the three states, was closed due to protests.

Massive vandalism riots have been taking place in the US since late May. The reason was the death of African-American George Floyd while being brutally detained by police.

In late June, it became known that U.S. authorities detained more than 100 people for participation in the riots and damage to federal property.

On June 23 Trump promised to protect national monuments from protesters and rioters. He authorized authorities to arrest anyone who attempted to vandalize monuments and statues and to sentence them to up to 10 years in prison.
