A man opened fire on police officers in France on August 7

A man in the French city of Saint-Etienne opened fire on police officers, after which he was wounded in return fire and detained. This was reported by radio station France Bleu on August 7.

It is noted that no law enforcement officers were injured. According to journalists, the incident occurred after gendarmes arrived at a call about two suspicious men sitting in a car. They managed to detain one suspect at once, while the second resisted and tried to escape.

According to eyewitnesses, the man hid in the yard of a house behind some bushes, and when law enforcers followed him, he started shooting. The police returned fire, as a result of which the perpetrator was seriously wounded in the stomach and leg. The intruder was detained and then handed over to the medics.

Earlier, on August 7, it was reported that a shooting occurred at a beach in Stockholm. According to the police, as a result of the incident a 20-year-old man was seriously injured. He was taken to a local hospital. Law enforcers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.
