A series of explosions were heard in the center of Stepanakert

A series of explosions thundered in the capital of unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Stepanakert in the evening of October 10.

According to information, there were at least nine explosions. An alarm sounded in the city.

The residents of Stepanakert are hurryingly hiding in the shelters in order not to get under fire.

The day before as a result of consultations held in Moscow on the initiative of Russian side Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed upon ceasefire from 12:00 local time on October 10 for humanitarian purposes for exchange of prisoners and bodies.

In addition, the sides agreed to start substantive negotiations through the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in order to achieve a peaceful settlement of the situation in the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) as soon as possible and confirmed the unchanged format of the negotiation process.

However, already after reaching an agreement, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported on October 10 that the Azerbaijani armed forces were stepping up the use of drones in the south direction of the line of contact in Karabakh and that 28 more NKR soldiers had died.

Press secretary of Armenian Defense Ministry Shushan Stepanyan wrote on Facebook that on Saturday the Azeri armed forces fired rockets at villages near Kapan city, there were victims and wounded.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denied the information and called it a provocation, as well as stated that the Armenian side fired on the territories of Tartar and Agdam districts around Karabakh.
