Administration of U.S. President Donald Trump intends to resume funding to the World Health Organization. This is reported by Fox News with reference to sources.
According to the channel, a draft letter has been prepared to the WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, which Trump intends to sign (or maybe has already signed). The draft document states that the United States is prepared to provide the same amount of funding to organizations as China.
It also follows from the draft that if China increases its funding, Washington will also consider increasing it to the same level.
In addition, the document says that, according to the U.S. side, WHO has certain shortcomings, but there is also “enormous potential. Also, the White House believes that the organization should be reformed and protected from political pressure.
Recall that in mid-April, Trump said that the USA was suspending the allocation of funds to the WHO. The American leader then noted that he was dissatisfied with the way the organization reacted to the coronavirus outbreak in Washington.
