AirPods and Beats headphones get an update that makes them easier to find

Apple has released another firmware update for its AirPods and Beats headphones. It adds the ability to search for accessories through Locator.

Headphone users will be able to find them if they’ve lost them, as well as be notified if they’ve forgotten them somewhere, like in a coffee shop or at work.

The update installs automatically and affects the following models:

  • AirPods 2, AirPods Pro and AirPods Max;
  • Beats Solo Pro, Powerbeats 4 and Powerbeats Pro.

For AirPods, the fresh firmware number is 4A400, and for Beats it is 4A394. You can check your version in the settings under Bluetooth.
