American director Dick O’Hary died in a car accident in Cyprus

American actor and director Ahab O’Hary, known as Dick O’Hary, was killed in a car accident in Cyprus. This was reported on Wednesday, February 17, by the Cyprus Mail.

The accident involving 58-year-old O’Hari took place on Tuesday between the villages of Ayia Varvara and Aksilu. The driver failed to control and drove off the road. The car the man was in overturned several times. The police in Paphos suggest that the director, who was driving, was not wearing a seat belt and exceeded the speed limit a little.

Rescuers rescued the injured man from the mangled car and took him to the emergency room of a hospital in Paphos, where doctors stated his death, writes aif.ru.

O’Hari was of Indian origin. He was well known to the Russian-speaking population of Cyprus on the series Legend Hunt about travel. He made films about Russia. He has acted in several films, one of his most recent projects being the 2019 film Never Grow Old.

He has traveled extensively around the world, visited Russia, China, Mongolia and Malta, knew eight languages, and was friends with Hollywood celebrities, including Steven Seagal. He worked as a journalist and film producer and lived in the village of Pentallia near Paphos, Cyprus.
