An independent panel will decide the fate of Trump’s Facebook account

The decision to unblock the account of former U.S. President Donald Trump on Facebook will be taken by an independent oversight board, noted in a statement of the social network’s management.

The special commission is dealing with controversial issues on the content posted on Facebook.

“We believe it is necessary for the commission to evaluate it and come to its own independent conclusion as to whether the blocking should remain in place,” the statement said.

The decision to block Trump’s account was correct, the social network’s management said in a statement.
