An unknown gunman opened fire near a shopping mall in Washington, USA. As a result, five people were injured, including a child. The Washington Post newspaper reported about the incident on September 21.
According to preliminary data, three people were hospitalized, the other victims went to doctors on their own.
“When someone brazenly shoots into a crowd of people, it is unacceptable,” D.C. Police Chief Robert J. Conti said in a briefing.

A day earlier, an unidentified man opened fire at Heritage High School in Newport News, Virginia, in the United States. Students were evacuated. Two people were reportedly wounded. There is no danger to their lives.
