According to TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is developing a smartphone that will feature a large screen, but will get simplified features. This should reduce its cost and, consequently, make it more affordable at retail.
This smartphone, as predicted by Ming-Chi Kuo, will appear only in 2023. It is assumed that it will be called iPhone 14 Max, which indicates its size (while the absence of the prefix Pro signals a simplified stuffing). In terms of size, this smartphone will be about the same as the Pro Max device, that is, the largest in the entire line of iPhones, and in terms of the stuffing it will correspond to the iPhone SE. In terms of features it will duplicate the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which allows you to call it a sub-flagman.
The analyst believes that the release of this model will allow the company to increase smartphone sales. Apple sees that models with large screens are selling very well, so it wants to increase the range of such devices, including in the mid-price segment.
Ming-Chi Kuo also talked about other anticipated features of the iPhone 14 series in 2022. In particular, he pointed out that all models will get improved main cameras and screens with adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz. At the same time, he did not rule out that Apple will retire the mini version as the least in demand.
