Baku threatened to destroy Armenian C-300 heading to Karabakh

The Azerbaijani military forces are ready to destroy the C-300 SAMs that Armenia plans to deploy in Nagorno-Karabakh. Colonel Vagif Dargyakhli, head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, said this on Tuesday, September 29.

The colonel said that, according to his country’s intelligence, S-300 SAM systems that cover the airspace of Yerevan were taken off combat duty and are heading “towards the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

“We declare that the fate of the Armenian army’s military equipment destroyed in Nagorno-Karabakh awaits them,” the Interfax-Azerbaijan news agency quotes Dargyakhly as saying.

The conflict in Karabakh escalated on September 27. That day, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said the Armenian military opened fire on settlements on the line of contact.

In turn, Yerevan accused Baku of air and missile attacks in the region. Authorities of unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) declared martial law and general mobilization. Armenia also took similar measures. Azerbaijan declared partial mobilization.
