The former Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino was demolished in Atlantic City. The 39-story building was built by the 45th president of the United States. The hotel was declared bankrupt in 2014 and closed.

Authorities in Atlantic City made a whole show out of the demolition process. They wanted to auction off the right to press the button. Authorities had hoped to raise up to $1 million from the auction. The idea was rejected by Trump supporter and building owner Carl Ichan.
