Beaches in New York are allowed to swim subject to restrictions

Visitors to the beaches in New York City from July 1 will be allowed to swim, said Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday, June 23.

“The rumors are true: New York’s beaches will open for swimmers from July 1. Let’s be careful: (observe – Ed.) social distance and cover your face, even on the beach,” the mayor said on Twitter.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said June 18 that state authorities are considering a proposal to forcibly isolate visitors from other states as part of the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.
