The Belarusian security forces are ready to use military weapons to maintain order in the streets of Minsk. This was reported in the press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Monday, October 12.
“Protests, which shifted mostly to Minsk, became organized and extremely radical. In this connection, employees of internal affairs bodies and servicemen of internal troops will not leave the streets and, if necessary, will use special means and combat weapons,” reads the report published in the Telegram-channel of the Ministry.
Earlier that day, the Belarusian Interior Ministry said that the number of participants in unauthorized protests in Belarus has decreased, but the aggressiveness of the crowd has increased.
Also the department added that the total number of protesters all over the country on October 11 made up about 11 thousand and 713 citizens were detained “for violation of legislation on mass events”.
