Bezos sold Amazon shares for $1.8 billion

The richest man in the world according to Forbes Jeff Bezos sold shares of his company Amazon for a total of $1.84 billion, according to CNBC.

The documents sent to the Commission on Securities and Exchange said that Bezos sold about 905.5 thousand securities in total from January 31 to February 3. The reason for the sale is not specified.

At the same time, in 2019 and 2017 Bezos sold stakes in Amazon to finance its missile startup Blue Origin.

It is noted that during the current sale of shares the market value of again exceeded $1 trillion, as it first happened in 2018.

On January 31, it was reported that Bezos earned $13.2 billion in 15 minutes – this was due to a sharp jump in Amazon shares in the post-market a day earlier.

In June, Amazon became the most expensive global brand, taking first place in the ranking of BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands.
