U.S. President Joe Biden praised his work as head of the U.S. administration. He said this on June 24 at a press conference on infrastructure reform in the country.
“I’ve been in the position of president for about 150 days, so far I’m doing pretty well. Not because of me, but because that’s the way the system works,” The Washington Post quoted him as saying.
Biden also promised to drive journalists crazy by telling the truth as he sees it.
Assessing the situation with U.S. infrastructure reform, an agreement on which has yet to be reached in Parliament, he announced a possible deal on the infrastructure package and said that both sides should make “serious compromises.”
“This agreement tells the world that we can function and provide and do important things. This investment represents the kind of national effort that has literally never failed throughout our history,” Joe Biden said.
According to The Washington Post, the debate over massive new spending in the infrastructure bill began as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned lawmakers to raise the national debt ceiling by August.
On June 22 it was reported that the bill to reform some provisions of the U.S. electoral system failed to pass the procedural vote in the U.S. Senate. The reason that the bill was blocked was the opposition of the Republicans.
