Biegun tasted cabbage soup with wild mushrooms at lunch with Lavrov

First Deputy U.S. Secretary of State Stephen Biegun, who arrived in Moscow to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, had lunch with wild mushrooms. This was announced on Tuesday, August 25, in Facebook by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

“Meeting of Sergey Lavrov with First Deputy U.S. Secretary of State Stephen Biegun in Moscow. I know that you will ask about the menu. Russian table, including cabbage soup with wild mushrooms”, she wrote.

The meeting between Lavrov and Biegun was held at the Russian Foreign Ministry Reception House in Spiridonovka. It was held in closed mode and lasted more than 1.5 hours.

On August 24, the deputy head of the American State Department met with the leader of the Belarusian opposition, former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya in Vilnius.

Tikhanovskaya and Bigan discussed the political crisis in Belarus. The opposition leader expressed gratitude to the United States for their support to the Belarusian people, who “demand respect for their choice.
