Russian Black Sea Fleet has escorted the U.S. Navy destroyer Porter, which entered the Black Sea. This was reported on Monday, April 13, in the Russian Defense Control Center.

“The Black Sea Fleet took the U.S. Navy destroyer “Porter”, which entered the Black Sea at 18:30 on April 13, 2020, for escort. Forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet are tracking the U.S. Navy ship,” said in a statement of the Defense Control Center.

Earlier on April 13, the sixth operational fleet of the U.S. Navy reported that the destroyer missile USS Porter (DDG 78) is sent to the Black Sea to interact with the Black Sea partner countries to ensure maritime security, said the representatives of the fleet.

In autumn 2019, the U.S. Navy ship entered the Black Sea, then its purpose was to demonstrate the commitment of the United States to freedom of navigation and NATO allies.
