Blink-182 lead singer Mark Hoppus announces victory over cancer

The lead singer of the punk rock band Blink-182, Mark Hoppus, revealed Wednesday, Sept. 29, that he has been cured of cancer.

“Just saw my oncologist and I’ m cancer free! Thank you to God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love ” the 49-year-old singer wrote on Instagram.

According to Hoppus, he will have to undergo checkups every six months to monitor his remission situation.

A week ago, the musician posted a photo on social media showing how his hair was starting to grow back after a course of chemotherapy.

In June, Mark Hoppus revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He admitted that he had already been undergoing chemotherapy for three months at the time. The singer did not specify what kind of cancer he was talking about, but according to several media reports, he was diagnosed with stage four lymphoma.
