California held a protest against quarantine

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered at the Capitol of California, demanding that Governor Gavin Newsome ease the severe restrictions on leaving the house, despite the governor’s own calls for restraint.

At least 100 cars circled the Capitol in Sacramento, a continuous signal, while at least 200 demonstrators rallied with posters against a multi-week quarantine that paralyzed the economy. Many were masked and crowded on sidewalks and streets, ignoring recommendations to minimize the spread of the virus.

“If you’re going to protest, keep your physical distance,” called Newsom. – The worst thing we can do is make decisions based on politics and frustration.”

Meanwhile, about two thousand people gathered in Pennsylvania’s capital Harrisberg on Monday, signaling, screaming and joking about the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus. The rally was one of the largest rallies in a growing nationwide movement against governors trying to strike a balance between health and economic issues.
