The 51-year-old actress admitted that her affair with 76-year-old Michael Douglas prevented many of the unpleasant situations she might have faced early in her career. Catherine Zeta-Jones touched on the subject in an interview with Radio Times, discussing the #MeToo movement, in which many celebrities have spoken out about sexual violence in Hollywood.
“I was very young when my career started. Whenever I auditioned, I never found myself in that environment. And when I moved to Hollywood, I met my future husband very quickly, so everybody knew I was with Michael Douglas. I don’t know if that played a big role, but it probably saved me from an environment where I would have been vulnerable,” the star shared. – I certainly understand how hard it is to talk about and how strong these women were.”
Katherine and Michael were married in 2000 in New York City. On their 20th wedding anniversary, the actor recounted the first meeting with his wife-to-be: “I probably made a big mistake, but I looked at her and said: “I just want to tell you that I’m going to be the father of your children.” And so it happened: the couple are raising 20-year-old Dylan Michael and 18-year-old Caris Zeta.
