Chebotko, a cross-country skiing medalist, died in a car accident in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstani skier Nikolai Chebotko, the bronze medalist of the World Cup – 2013 died in a traffic accident. It was reported by the portal Olympic.kz on Sunday, January 24.

The athlete was 38 years old.

The car accident happened at night on Sunday near the village Borovoe, Akmola region. Circumstances of the accident are not specified.

The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan offered its condolences to the victim’s relatives.

Chebotko was born on October 29, 1982 in Schuchinsk, Kokshetau Oblast. He achieved the greatest successes in big sports in 2013, when in Italian Val di Fiemme he rose on the third step of the podium of the World Cup.
