The American government should begin preparations for a possible war with Russia or China. This was stated in the report by the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, Charles Brown.
Any of the potential conflicts on the scale will be comparable to World War II, the magazine Defence News quotes him.
According to Brown, the U.S. Army leadership does not take the future war seriously enough. To win, the country must develop its resources and focus on developing new technologies. More specific list of necessary actions the Chief of Staff intends to present on Monday, September 14.
Brown took over as chief of staff of the air force in June. He was the first African-American in that position and the first African-American to join the Joint Chiefs of Staff since Colin Powell, who served as chairman from 1989 to 1993.
