COVID-19 patient in Spain sets hospital on fire

A patient with a coronavirus infection set fire to a hospital in the Spanish city of Cardis. This was reported on Wednesday, February 10, by the newspaper Diario de Cadiz.

The fire broke out on the sixth floor and engulfed at least two rooms out of 20. Patients on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors had time to evacuate and transfer to other areas of the hospital.

According to a source in the medical facility management, the cause of the fire was one of the patients who for some unknown reason intentionally set fire to a mattress. He has been detained.

Firefighters who arrived on the scene climbed the emergency stairs to the sixth floor and the fire was “brought under control.”
