Cuomo accused of underreporting coronavirus deaths in New York

The scandals surrounding Andrew Cuomo continue even after his resignation. The former governor of New York underreported the number of deaths from the coronavirus. The politician only reported deaths in hospitals, nursing homes and adult care facilities. The head of the state received data on all deaths caused by COVID-19.

Cuomo concealed the number of deaths at home, in hospices, in prisons, in nursing homes, and in people with a diagnosis not confirmed by laboratory testing. The new state governor’s data revealed a marked discrepancy in the numbers. It turned out that Cuomo did not report about 22% of the deaths caused by COVID-19 in New York.
