The dating app Bumble is opening its first permanent restaurant – it will be called Bumble Brew. In this way, the creators of the service hope to help people meet offline.
The establishment will appear in New York City, in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood. The restaurant is to open on July 24th and will have 80 seats, a terrace and separate rooms. The interior is decorated in the app’s signature colors.
The idea for the restaurant appeared two years ago. Then the creators wanted to make a special menu – without food that can get dirty, because of which some people feel uncomfortable on a date.
However, later representatives of the service said that they wanted to create a comfortable and safe place, so the menu will include familiar dishes – mainly Italian cuisine.
The creator of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe, explained that during the pandemic, users are communicating more and more online – but many find it difficult to get to know each other well. That’s why the company wants to help at least some of them communicate live.
