Deputies urged German authorities to complete construction of Nord Stream-2

The Council of the German District of West Pomerania – Greifswald – voted to finish laying the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. The district deputies called on the German and Mecklenburg authorities to ensure successful completion of the gas pipeline construction. The Greifswald Council members criticized the USA for opposing the project and warned the ruling parties that the Americans may take part in sabotaging the gas pipeline. Greifswald itself is the endpoint of the first Trans-Baltic gas pipeline.

Construction of Nord Stream Two was suspended in December last year. The Swiss pipelayer refused to continue the work because of the threat to get under sanctions announced by Washington.
