Governor of the Kaluga region Vladislav Shapsha December 29 said that the founder of the company SpaceX Elon Musk will be interested to visit the region, which is considered the birthplace of astronautics.
“I think any person who is interested in space flight, especially Ilon Musk, would be interested in Kaluga. We have a lot of companies that are engaged in this, scientists who have achieved serious results in these areas,” Shapsha said.
He noted that Kaluga can present absolutely different aspects of its life – from space to tourism. According to the governor, they have something to show Musk and something to talk to him about.
In July, Shapsha already invited Musk to visit the Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics. In turn, the director of the museum Natalia Abakumova emphasized that Musk constantly quotes Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, “so he is likely to be interested in visiting the museum”.
In addition, in the same month, the family of rocket and space systems designer Sergei Korolev invited Musk to Moscow. After that, the founder of SpaceX wrote on Twitter that the Soviet scientist “was one of the best.
Roskosmos disagreed with Musk’s assessment of Korolev and corrected the American entrepreneur: “He was the best”.
