English player Luke Shaw played in the UEFA EURO 2020 play-offs with broken ribs

He played three more games for the Three Lions after his injury.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has played for the England national team with a serious injury. The 26-year-old winger suffered broken ribs but has been fit to play in the European Championship play-offs for the Three Lions.

According to British press reports, Shaw was injured in the 1/8 final against Germany (2-0). The Englishman has since played three games at the tournament with this injury: 4-0 against Ukraine in the quarter-final, 2-1 against Denmark in the semi-final and 1-3 against Italy in the final (1-1, on penalties).

It is worth noting that the Manchester United player scored the only goal for England in the final match against Italy, who won Euro 2020.

The next UEFA European Football Championship will take place three years from June 14 to July 14, 2024, when Germany will host the tournament. Qualifying matches for the tournament are expected to start in spring 2023.
