Turkey has not recognized and does not recognize Crimea’s reunification with Russia. Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated this at the briefing with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Istanbul on October 16.
“We see Ukraine as a key country in terms of security and stability in our region. And within this framework, we have always supported, supported and will continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including the Crimea. Turkey has not recognized and will not recognize the annexation of Crimea,” Erdogan said.
According to him, now the work on realization of housing construction projects for Crimean Tatars and construction of mosque in Kyiv is continuing.
In February this year, Erdogan already said that Turkey will continue defending Ukraine’s territorial integrity and will not recognize Crimea’s reunification with Russia.
