EU hackers disable Isil’s leading information resource

BRUSSELS, November 25. Hackers of the European police agency Europol together with experts of the Belgian Federal Police conducted a successful cyberattack on the information al-Internet resource of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (ISIL) – the so-called Amaq news agency. This was reported on Monday by RTBF TV channel citing sources in the Belgian security services.

According to him, the operation, which took about a year to prepare, was carried out on November 21-22. As a result, several thousand accounts associated with this resource were blocked.

Amaq’s activities have already been shut down in 2018, but IS has been able to resume its information resource within a few months.

INFORMATION: sites linked to ISIL in the EU and the US are included in the list of banned resources to be blocked.
