According to a report, the Indian crew of the giant container ship that was released after it ran aground in the Suez Canal could be placed under house arrest and also face criminal charges for the incident.

The Indian government and maritime groups are concerned about how the Suez Canal authorities will treat the 25 crew members after the 1,300-foot Ever Given was released Monday, nearly a week after it ran aground.

Sources in the shipping industry told a local news agency that the crew could be banned from traveling further and could eventually face criminal charges for the incident.
