Explosion at Kabul airport: several US servicemen wounded, dozens dead

An explosion near Kabul International Airport killed at least 13 people. Another 15 people were wounded, including two US soldiers and several children. This is now reported by the world media, citing eyewitnesses.

According to TV channel Al Hadath, the explosion took place near the British forces’ point. Taliban guards were also injured in the blast.

According to Reuters, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby confirmed that the explosion might have been caused by a suicide attack.

Reports of a second explosion are now beginning to come in. There is panic at the airport.
