A large sugar warehouse caught fire on Tuesday, April 20, in Baltimore, Maryland. It is reported by the Baltimore Sun.
It is noted that the raw sugar storage facility at Domino Sugars, located on the banks of the Patapsco River, is on fire. Published images show fire boats fighting the fire. Clouds of black smoke can be seen above the building.
According to the newspaper, the building has partially collapsed. As it is specified, all the employees managed to evacuate on their own, there was no information about the victims. The work of the plant has been suspended. Causes of the fire are being determined.
It is noted that the plant employs 510 people and produces about 3 thousand tons of sugar daily.
Earlier, on April 8, it was reported that at the paint factory Yenkin Majestic Paint in Columbus (Ohio), there was an explosion followed by a fire.
