Five citizens were detained in the Czech Republic on suspicion of espionage

Special services in the Czech Republic detained five people on suspicion of espionage. However, charges have not been filed yet, and the police do not give any comments. The detainees are believed to have been recruited by Russian intelligence, “members of military formations,” and participants in the conflict in Donbass on the side of the DNR and LNR. The work of the special services takes place against the backdrop of the scandal with the expulsion of our diplomats from the Czech Republic.

The detention of five suspects of espionage is connected with the explosion of an ammunition depot in Vrbetica in 2014. Earlier, the Czech authorities accused the Russian Federation of involvement in the incident without evidence. It is worth noting that Prague did not answer the question of whose ammunition it was. However, it became known that the property destroyed by the explosion was insured. The owners included the Czech Armed Forces and a firm from Bulgaria. The insurance has still not been paid for the past seven years because the owners of the warehouse have not yet been found.
