Five people died, two lost consciousness as a result of toxic gas poisoning at a food factory in Sichuan province in southwest China, Sina Finance reported Monday, May 24.
The incident at the Furong Sunlai factory occurred earlier in the day around 3 p.m. local time.
“As of 8:50 p.m. local time, five people have been confirmed dead and two remain unconscious,” the report said.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident. It is now established that the people who were on the territory of the factory could have been poisoned by toxic gas during repair and construction work.
