The shooting took place on Sunday evening, May 10, in a park in Fort Worth, Texas. At least five people were injured in the incident, two of whom are in critical condition, according to The New Yourk Times, citing police reports.
There were reportedly about 600 people in the park at the time of the incident. It is unclear what caused the shooting and why there were so many people in the park at this time.
“We stated that everyone must follow the rules. “We try to work with everyone. At the end of the day, people have a choice, and that’s exactly the choice they made tonight,” Buddy Calzada’s police spokesman said at the press conference.
City authorities have not restricted the operation of municipal parks and golf courses against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic. However, according to the local administration’s website, people must observe social distance rules when visiting them.
