Forbes magazine published its 35th annual ranking of the richest people in the world.
The list is still headed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose fortune for the year grew by $64 billion – up to $177 billion.
Next comes American entrepreneur Ilon Musk. His fortune rose by $ 126.4 billion over the year – up to $ 151 billion. Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that the businessman’s fortune rose by $6 billion overnight due to an increase in shares of electric car maker Tesla.
Bernard Arnault, who oversees an empire of 70 brands, including Louis Vuitton and Sephora, rounded out the top three. The fortune of the entrepreneur for the year grew by $74 billion, reaching $150 billion.
Next come Microsoft founder Bill Gates with a fortune of $124 billion (+$26 billion for the year), Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg – $97 billion (+$42.3 billion), Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett – $96 billion (+$28, 5 billion), Oracle founder Larry Ellison – $93 billion (+$34 billion), Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin with $91.5 billion (+$40.6 billion) and $89 billion (+$39.9 billion) respectively.
Indian businessman Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, closes the top 10 with $84.5 billion (+$47.7 billion).
