A forest fire that broke out in four popular Turkish resort areas near Antalya has advanced to settlements. Firefighters from nearby provinces are supporting efforts to extinguish the fire. This was reported by Haber 7 on Thursday, July 29.
According to the publication, several homes and businesses have burned as a result of the fire. The flames engulfed the districts of Evrenseki, Kalemler, Yeniköy as well as Manavgat.
“It’s an unthinkable, bad picture. We didn’t even realize what we were really aiming for,” said Manavgat district mayor Sukru Sözen, talking about the actions taken to put out the fire.
In turn, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Kocsa stressed that at least 62 people were affected by the fire in Manavgat, Hürriyet reported.
The fire has also caused the evacuation of the residents of Yeniköy, Evrenseki, Bahçelievler and Sarılar districts due to the natural disaster.
