The former lead singer of the Finnish band Children of Bodom, Alexi Laiho, passed away at his home, music label Napalm Records announced Monday, January 4.
“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we must announce the passing of Alexi Laiho. We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the sudden loss of our dear friend and band member,” the label said in a Facebook post.
No cause of death was reported.
Children of Bodom was a Finnish metal band. It existed from 1993 to 2019. The band got its name from the 1960 murder of three teenagers on Lake Bodom.
