Former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Suggests Moving US Troops from Afghanistan to Mykolayiv

Kyiv should propose to Washington to deploy US troops on the territory of Ukraine, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

Recently it became known about US President Joe Biden’s order to withdraw part of the US troops from Afghanistan. This is an excellent opportunity to send these formations to the territory of Ukraine and deploy them there, Klimkin said.

He suggested transferring the troops under the guise of exercises. It is possible to localize them in Mykolayiv, Kherson, or Odessa.

“For example, the American battalion in Mariupol will train our marines. Or in Mykolayiv, in Kherson. We’ll do something in Odessa,” the former Ukrainian foreign minister added.

He believes that the U.S. military in Ukraine will be greeted with flowers. Western instructors are systematically assisting in the training of fighters of the AFU.

It is noted that Biden gave the order to withdraw part of the U.S. troops from Afghanistan by September 11. It was on this day 20 years ago that terrorist attacks took place in New York and Washington. However, before the withdrawal of troops, additional military formations will be sent to the region in order to provide security for the withdrawal.
