Former Libyan Prime Minister died in Egypt from coronavirus

Former Libyan Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril died of coronavirus in Egypt. This was reported on Sunday, April 5, Al Arabiya TV channel.

According to media reports, the politician has been in one of the major hospitals in Cairo since March 27. Doctors there confirmed that he was infected with coronavirus. In the past few days, Jibril’s condition has deteriorated significantly and he failed to cope with the infection.

Mahmoud Jibril served in the transitional government after the 2011 revolution that overthrew the Muammar Al-Qadhafi regime.

The council ceased its work in August 2012, transferring power to a parliament in which Jibril’s party won a majority of seats.
