In the village of West Jefferson in the U.S. state of Ohio, four people were killed in a shooting. It was reported Tuesday, May 25, by The Hill.
West Jefferson Police Chief Christopher Floyd told reporters that three of the victims were found inside the apartment, while one person was outside.
Police identified the victims a day later. Floyd clarified that there is now a theory that the killings may have occurred Monday afternoon.
“At this point, we don’t know if it was a robbery gone wrong or something else,” he told Columbus Dispatch.
Floyd also noted that in West Jefferson, “nothing like that happens.” The last murder in the village occurred in 2012, he said. The police chief stressed that the investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, on May 23, three people were killed and five others were injured in a bar shooting in Ohio. The incident reportedly occurred in Youngstown. The victims were taken to the hospital.
