Four people were injured in prison riots in the United States

Four people were injured by riots at a prison in Wacross, Georgia. This was reported August 2 by Newsweek.

“The incident has been taken under control since 1:00 on Sunday. Prison staff and prisoners were slightly injured, not life-threatening,” said the prison spokesman.

The riots began at the prison on Saturday evening around 10:40 pm.

Protests and riots in the United States have been going on since late May, after the death of African-American George Floyd in Minneapolis. A man died in hospital after being brutally detained by police.

On July 26, in Oakland, California, protesters set fire to a local courthouse, smashed police station windows and attacked police officers.

On July 28, more than 70 people were detained during the riots in Portland.
