The French authorities extended the curfew to 38 departments and to French Polynesia. This was stated by Prime Minister Jean Castex during his speech on Thursday, October 22.
According to him, the measure will last six weeks, it will be impossible to go out on the streets without a valid reason from 21:00 to 6:00, said the TV channel BFM.TV. The restriction will take effect at midnight from Friday to Saturday.
According to Castex, the incidence rate in France has been 251 per 100,000 people over the past seven days, indicating a 40% increase in new coronavirus cases.
“The coming weeks will be tough,” he admitted.
