German footballer Götze is in intensive care with a skull injury

German Kaiserslautern defender Felix Götze is in intensive care following an injury in a third Bundesliga match against FC Viktoria Berlin (0-4), reports the Bild on August 15.

In the 73rd minute of the game, Goetze and his teammate Marvin Sanger collided head-on. The collision struck Felix on the temple. He fell on the lawn and was never able to get up.

The footballer was rendered first aid on the field and then hospitalized. Now he is in intensive care unit with a preliminary diagnosis of microfracture of the skull.

According to the publication, on Sunday night, Goetze said in his Instagram that he was doing well and thanked fans for the wishes for recovery.

As clarified , Felix is the younger brother of German world champion and Dutch PSV player Mario Goetze.
