Russian blogger Alexey Navalny survived only thanks to the quick reaction of the pilots of the plane in which he was flying and the professionalism of doctors in Omsk. The Die Zeit newspaper reported this on Wednesday, September 9, citing its own sources.
“In Berlin they say that he (Navalny – Ed.) survived only thanks to a chain of happy circumstances, such as the rapid reaction of the pilot who landed the plane in an emergency, as well as doctors in Omsk, who immediately injected Navalny atropine,” the material says.
The publication notes that the specialists of the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Bundeswehr, who studied Navalny’s samples, came to the conclusion that he was allegedly “poisoned with a new type of chemical weapon ” Novichok “.
According to the German side, “this variant of “Novichok” is slower than those known so far.
In his turn, one of the creators of the chemical warfare agent Leonid Rink stated that the message of Die Zeit cannot be true.
“Bullshit is absolutely. I, of course, know all variants of “Novichok”. But this statement has nothing to do with the mechanism of action, with the fact that symptoms should appear. They do not exist. At least squash what you want to say, but there are no symptoms. Nothing can be done. There is no death. Forget about the “Beginner”,” said the expert.
Navalny felt bad when he flew from Tomsk to Moscow on August 20. The liner landed in Omsk in an emergency, the blogger was taken to the emergency hospital #1. He was transported to the Charite clinic in Berlin on August 22.
The German clinic said that the blogger showed signs of intoxication with the substance from the group of cholinesterase inhibitors. However, Omsk doctors did not reveal any signs of intoxication with this substance during the examination of the patient.
Besides, the German government, based on the data of special laboratory of Bundeswehr, stated on September 2 that Navalny was allegedly poisoned with the substance from the group “Novichok”. However, no evidence and facts were attached to this statement, as well as all official inquiries of the Russian side, including those of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation and doctors, remained unanswered. The latter have repeatedly offered the German doctors cooperation.
