Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg was spotted in the company of a young man at a pro-climate march in Milan.
The Daily Mail published photos showing the young man hugging Greta, 18, by the shoulders while she fed him chips.
“Greta was in a great mood as she spent time with her apparently close friend at the Fridays 4 Future movement march. The mysterious stranger was also warmly hugging Greta by the shoulders,” the Daily Mail commented.
The Fridays 4 Future parade took place in Milan on October 1, and around nine thousand people took part in it. The manifestation under the slogans “For the planet!”, “It’s not so hot in hell,” “The climate is changing, the system is not!”, took place against the background of a preliminary meeting on preparations for the UN conference on climate change in Glasgow (COP26).
On September 28, Greta again attracted world media attention, lashing out at world leaders, calling their promises to address the climate emergency empty.
“That’s all we hear from our so-called leaders. Words that sound great, but have yet to lead to action. Our hopes and ambitions are drowning in their empty promises…It’s been 30 years of ‘blah blah blah,’ and where has that gotten us?” she was quoted as saying by The Guardian.
On March 8, the eco-activist said she did not support the climate policy of U.S. President Joe Biden. She called on the U.S. leader to treat the climate problems “not as one of the political topics”. According to the eco-activist, if Washington has declared its intentions to solve the environmental situation, which is a threat to existence, then they should follow their promises.
